Abstract: Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a debilitating disease most commonly affecting young and middle-aged people. Most often leading to a significant articular disability, ultimately needing a total hip replacement. Early diagnosis and effective joint-preserving surgical treatments are urgently needed for patients with early stage ANFH. We would like to report a minimally invasive modified technique of percutaneous core decompression using flexible reamers and percutaneous iliac bone graft harvesting to treat the early stage of femoral head osteonecrosis.
