Abstract: Acetabular fractures are uncommon compare to other polytrauma setting, and most orthopaedic surgeons will never develop a wide exposure to them. Earlier management of these injuries can have major effects on the long term outcomes from what is often a significant injury in a young patient. We present a current review of the anatomy, classification and management guidelines for acetabular fractures, including a comprehensive review of the major decision making processes, as well as describing the most common complications and the outcomes.
