Abstract:

Flat feet, medically known as pes planus, is a condition characterized by the absence of a normal foot arch, leading to the entire sole touching the ground. This comprehensive review explores the implications of flat feet on long-term musculoskeletal health, particularly focusing on its impact on bones, joints, and surrounding soft tissues. The paper delves into both congenital and acquired flat feet, examining the biomechanics, associated risk factors, and the broader consequences on joint alignment and gait mechanics. Various management strategies, including conservative and surgical approaches, are discussed, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and individualized treatment plans. Through case studies and evidence-based practices, this study highlights the multifaceted nature of flat feet and its far-reaching effects on the human body, stressing the need for continued research and innovation in treatment methods.
