Abstract:
This case report details a rare instance of giant cell tumor (GCT) in the calcaneum of a 17-year-old female. GCTs are generally benign bone neoplasms more frequently observed in young adults, predominantly in long bones. The rarity of GCTs manifesting in the calcaneum makes this case notable. This report aims to illuminate the clinical manifestations, the strategy adopted for management, and the outcomes post-treatment of this exceptional case. The focus is on providing insights into the diagnostic challenges, therapeutic decisions, and follow-up procedures for such uncommon presentations of GCT, thereby contributing valuable information to the existing literature on bone neoplasms in pediatric and adolescent patients.
