Abstract:

We report a case of a 50-year-old female patient admitted to the hospital due to low back pain radiating to both lower limbs associated with weakness of the lower extremities. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed an intradural-extramedullary tumor at the level of the T12 vertebral body with another spinal dumbbell shaped lesion along L1-L2 neural foramen and L1 nerve root. The lesion was over 3 cm in greatest diameter and compressed the conus medullaris. The patient underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Postoperative histopathology report confirmed the diagnosis of schwannoma. The symptoms resolved almost completely without significant complications.
