Abstract: Brucellosis is caused by gram-negative, aerobic, non-motile, facultative, intracellular cocco-bacilli belonging to the genus Brucella. Brucellosis is spread from animals to humans by direct contact with infected tissue or by ingestion of milk or dairy products. In developed countries, human brucellosis is an occupation-related disease and occurs more commonly among farmers, veterinarians and laboratory. Here we presented a case report of a patient who wad diagnosed with brucellosis with lumbar spine involvement. Brucellosis should also be taken as differential diagnosis of spinal infections.
